Stress and Anxiety

You will not see any reports for this, yet. We need to establish a baseline for you, and that takes time. But once we have enough data, we’ll start sharing our insights with you.

But, Sparks uses brief, standardized check-ins, such as the questions attached to the Daily Messages that app subscribers will benefit from. The questions are drawn from the same validated instruments used in clinical research to measure your current levels of perceived stress and anxiety. Unlike the other assessments, these are usually one or two questions tied to the daily messages you’ll soon start receiving. The questions will be repeated over time, because stress is a weather system, not a fixed trait. This is not a standardized assessment; rather, it is an over-time measurement, akin to taking your pulse.

Why take them

Two reasons. First, a baseline: you cannot tell whether things are improving without knowing where you started. Second, early warning: stress builds gradually, and most of us only notice it after it has already affected our sleep, our patience, and our relationships. Regular measurement helps everyone catch the changes earlier.

The awareness you gain

You learn to separate your load from your capacity, and to spot your personal early signals. Over time, your trend line becomes one of the most motivating things in Sparks: concrete evidence that the work you are doing is working.

These check-ins are wellness measures, not medical diagnoses; if your results suggest you may benefit from professional care, Sparks will say so plainly and help you find it.

At all times, the insights you gain from Sparks are designed to help you improve your self-awareness, not to replace the benefits of therapy. In fact, we consider Sparks to be supportive of the work you do in therapy.
