Assessments

Every other app waits for your crisis.

We don’t…  We work to prevent it.

Most mental health apps are just bandaids. When you are already falling apart, they offer breathing exercises and a calming voice. Helpful in the moment, but they never really learn who you are. Sparks does the opposite. We ask you questions to get to know you, deeply, so we can provide you with clinical-quality insights and feedback that provide you with self-awareness and the tools you need to keep the crisis that used to trigger you from arriving in the first place.

Rescue is not the same as prevention

Think about the last hard stretch you went through. By the time you reached for help, the argument had already happened, the email had already been sent, the sleepless night was already underway. Crisis tools show up at the end of the story.

Almost every one of those moments was built earlier, out of a pattern you could not see: the way you read tone when you are tired, the thing you do when someone gets close, the reply you fire off when you feel cornered. See the pattern and you can interrupt it. That is prevention, and prevention requires something no generic app has ever had: real knowledge of you.

The Sparks Prism: one person, seen from every angle

Hold white light up to a prism and it separates into every color it was hiding. That is what our questions are built to do with you.

We get to know you the way a good professional would: by asking. A lot. Twenty-three assessments, five minutes each, drawn from validated instruments rather than invented for the internet. You will notice the Prism sometimes asks the same thing in different ways, and that is deliberate. People answer differently depending on the context they are picturing. You might be direct at work and conflict-avoidant at home, confident about strategy and uncertain about people, generous with strangers and guarded with the person closest to you.

Those differences are not inconsistencies to be corrected. They are the spectrum, and they are some of the most useful information about you there is. Seeing them is often the moment something clicks, and that insight belongs to you every bit as much as it does to us.

What the Prism produces is not a label or a four-letter type. It is an accurate, evolving profile of how you actually operate. See exactly how the Prism builds your picture.

This only works if you are honest, so we made honesty safe, and confidentiality #1

We are asking you personal questions, and you deserve to know exactly what happens to your answers. Everything is confidential and encrypted, your results are visible to you alone, and nothing identifiable is ever shared with an employer, a school, or anyone else. Privacy is not a policy page we bolted on at the end; it is the architecture the whole platform is built on. Read our privacy mission statement.

Most every organization on the Internet attempts to ‘personalize you experience’ and in doing so, they eat away at your privacy. We have approached everything from a different perspective, and it starts with your very first visit, when you sign up: We don’t ask you for your last name, and we suggest you use a private email address, or a service such as Apple’s Hide-my-Email feature. Then, when you use the system, any answers you provide are disintermediated from your account, so that no one can ever tie any specific responses back to you “User52512” or “skier12” or “JohnnyR.”  The only things accessible to you after you complete an assessment is your score.

Privacy and confidentiality are at the foundation of our approach. It’s built into the system architecture, and it’s part of our core ethos.

Then we meet you where the stress actually is

Your Prism profile is not a report you read once. It personalizes two tools that live where you feel the friction: every time you are dealing with another person and something just feels off.

The Communications Coach

It is 4:30 on a Thursday and a message from your boss lands: “Good progress.” Are they pleased, or are they quietly worried about the deadline? You will read it nine times and still not know.

The Coach tells you what is probably going on, and helps you write back. It works on the messages that actually matter to you: the reply you cannot find the words for, the message to a Hinge match when you want to sound interested but not too eager, the ask in a compensation review when you want more and do not want to overplay it. Text or email, on your phone or in your inbox, right where you are already typing. See how it decodes emotional subtext.

The Reflection Journal

When something is still turning over in your head, write it down. Because the journal knows your patterns, it answers with the perspectives you cannot generate from inside the moment: how the other person likely experienced it, which of your habits might be doing the talking, what you would tell a friend who wrote this. That is how a spiral becomes a thought you have finished having.

Stop pasting your life into ChatGPT

We know what you have been doing: copying the awkward email into a chatbot and asking it to fix the tone. It writes something polished and slightly generic, because it has no idea who you are, what your history with this person is, or how you tend to misread people when you are stressed. Every session starts from zero.

Sparks starts from you. Your Prism profile is built deliberately, question by question, and every suggestion you get draws on it to coach you toward the outcome you actually want. At work, in your relationships, and anywhere else confusion shows up.

Outcomes are data. Causes are foresight.

Anything can tell you how last week went. Sparks is built to show you what produces those weeks. Our assessments come from validated, research-backed instruments, our sessions are written by trained professionals, and our predictive analytics compare your patterns against a large body of experience to show you what tends to come next, early enough to act. The Communications Coach and the Reflection Journal run on our own patented technology.
