Conflict Style
What it is
Based on the widely used five-mode model, this assessment measures how you balance asserting your own needs against cooperating with others when interests collide. The five modes are competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating. Everyone can use all five; everyone defaults to one or two.
Why take it
Your default conflict mode was probably chosen for you by your childhood household, not by you. People who avoid conflict pay in slow-building resentment; people who compete pay in damaged relationships; people who accommodate pay in disappearing needs. Knowing your default, and its price, lets you choose rather than react.
The awareness you gain
You discover that conflict itself is not the problem; your unexamined default is. Each mode is the right tool for some situations and the wrong tool for others. With awareness, a disagreement stops being a threat and becomes a solvable problem with a known playbook.
