The Enneagram

The Enneagram is a personality framework that categorizes human psychology into nine interconnected types. Rather than focusing solely on surface behaviors, it maps the subconscious motivations, core fears, and foundational desires that drive how people think, feel, and act.
It is useful because it provides a precise roadmap for self-awareness and emotional intelligence. By revealing how you react under stress versus security, the Enneagram exposes personal blind spots and growth paths. In relationships and workplaces, it builds deep empathy and improves communication by explaining why others view the world differently, helping reduce conflict and improve collaboration.

What it is

The Enneagram describes nine interconnected types, each organized around a core motivation and a core fear: the need to be good, to be needed, to succeed, to be unique, to understand, to be secure, to be satisfied, to be strong, or to be at peace. It also maps how each type behaves under stress and in growth.

Why take it

Where other tools describe what you do, the Enneagram asks why. Two people can display identical behavior, perfectionism for instance, driven by entirely different fears. Understanding your core motivation is the difference between managing a symptom and addressing a root cause, which is exactly what Sparks is built to do.

The awareness you gain

Becoming aware means you begin to notice the moment your core fear takes the wheel: the instant helpfulness becomes self-abandonment, or achievement becomes image management. Seeing the motivation behind the behavior is often the most emotionally powerful discovery in a journey of self-awareness. It helps us understand why we react to certain situations in ways we struggle to understand.
