Big Five Traits (OCEAN)
What it is
The Big Five is the most scientifically validated personality model in psychology. Rather than sorting you into a type, it measures where you fall on five continuous dimensions: Openness to experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and emotional reactivity (often called Neuroticism). You receive a score on each, not a label.
Why take it
Because degree matters. Two people can share the same four-letter type yet live very different lives, because one is mildly introverted and the other profoundly so. The Big Five captures that nuance, and decades of research connect these scores to real outcomes: how you respond to stress, how you work in teams, what kinds of environments help you thrive.
The awareness you gain
You see yourself in shades rather than boxes. High emotional reactivity, for example, is not a defect; it is a nervous system that responds strongly, which also means you feel joy, beauty, and connection strongly. Knowing your scores lets you plan for your sensitivities instead of being ambushed by them.
