Social Styles
What it is
The social styles model describes four observable interaction styles, Driver, Expressive, Amiable, and Analytical, based on how assertive and how emotionally responsive a person appears to others. Unlike personality tests, it measures how you come across, not how you feel inside.
Why take it
Because other people respond to your outside, not your inside. Social styles is the workplace classic for a reason: it teaches you to read the style of the person in front of you and adjust in real time, a skill called style-flexing that measurably improves collaboration.
The awareness you gain
You gain a fast, practical read on the people around you: the colleague who wants the bottom line first, the friend who needs the relationship acknowledged before the problem, the manager who trusts data over enthusiasm. Meetings, emails, and family dinners all get easier.
